JUST IN!!! Naira Marley calls for re-arrest in Mohbad’s case

Posted Aug 21 by Africtunez Admin 0
Nigerian singer and Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has publicly called on the Nigerian Police to re-arrest and re-investigate all individuals linked to the tragic death of late artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

In a recent interview, the controversial music executive revealed that he had voluntarily returned to Nigeria in order to cooperate with the authorities and clear his name following widespread speculations and accusations that trailed Mohbad’s death.

Naira Marley explained that despite presenting what he described as “evidence of innocence,” he was detained for two months at Panti, Yaba, Lagos. He insisted that he had been unfairly held despite not being in Nigeria at the time of Mohbad’s death and not having seen the late singer for over a year prior.

He said …

“I came back to Nigeria to support the police with the investigation because I could see fingers pointing towards me and I wanted to clear my name. I had nothing to do with it. I even presented everything to prove my innocence. Yet, I was detained for two months in Panti. Why? For what reason? I wasn’t even in the country. I hadn’t seen him in over a year. There was nothing to ask me, yet I was kept there.”

The singer further alleged that his detention was influenced by forces “behind the scenes,” claiming that even the officers in charge had initially admitted that he had no connection to Mohbad’s death, but told him the prolonged stay was for his “protection.”

“Some people were working behind the scenes to make sure I was kept there for two months. Even the officers said I had nothing to do with it. They said it was for my own protection. But you know what it means to stay in that place for two months. It wasn’t easy, but it’s fine. I wanted to do a video when I got out to explain myself, but I waited because the autopsy was still ongoing. At the end of the day, all I can do is tell my side of the story.”

Calling for justice, Marley urged the authorities to revisit the case and arrest everyone linked to Mohbad’s final moments. He emphasized the need for a credible officer to handle the case to restore public trust.

“If you ask me, I will tell the police to re-arrest everybody. Everybody involved needs to be arrested again. Put an officer that we can all trust in charge of the investigation. Let the truth come out because Nigerians are not blind, they can see what’s happening.”

On Mohbad’s estate, the Marlian Records boss also clarified that his team had not touched any of the late singer’s funds since his passing. He stressed that the money was intact and would be handed over to whoever the court or Mohbad’s family legally appoints to manage his estate.

“We’ve already gotten in touch with Mohbad’s lawyer and we are ready to hand over his share to whoever the court or family appoints. Since his death, we have not touched a dime of his money. Everything is safe, waiting for whoever is legally recognized to take charge. That’s the truth.”
