OMG!!! Police tell doctor to “pray thieves are caught” after home burglary

A young Nigerian medical doctor recently recounted a distressing experience after his home was burglarized, shedding light on the challenges citizens face when seeking justice in the country. According to the doctor, identified as @TheDrAfolarin on X, he returned from a work-related trip only to discover that his residence had been forcefully broken into, with several of his valuable household items stolen, including his television, freezer, fan, curtains, and sound system. The incident left him both shocked and frustrated, particularly given the security measures around his home.

The doctor revealed that his property is the only house in the compound and is fenced with barb wire, designed to deter intruders. Despite these precautions, the burglars managed to gain access without being detected. In his attempt to gather information, he reached out to neighbors to see if they noticed any suspicious activity around the time of the break-in. However, the neighbors claimed to have heard nothing and were reportedly surprised by the incident, which offered the doctor little hope of immediate leads.

Expressing his dismay, the doctor wrote on X:

“Traveled out of state to hustle. Came back home to pick some things only to realize my house has been forcefully broken into. TV, Freezer, fan, curtains, sound system and more gone. I’ve not even made half of this loss. May Nigeria never happen to you.”

He further expressed frustration at the response from law enforcement, adding:

“NB: My house is the only one in the compound, fenced with barb wire. Neighbours in surrounding houses said they heard nothing. In fact, they were so surprised🥲🥲. Police said I should pray the thieves get apprehended. I rest my case. Again, may Nigeria never happen to you.”
